Morocco Reaffirms Commitment to Palestinian Cause Under King Mohammed VI's Leadership

Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, on Wednesday, highlighted the ongoing efforts of Morocco's King Mohammed VI in support of the Palestinian cause.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by Morocco's ambassador to Bahrain, Mustapha Benkhyi, at the opening of the 54th session of the Arab Information Ministers' Council, Bensaid emphasized Morocco's unwavering commitment to the Palestinians. He asserted that under King Mohammed VI's leadership, Morocco steadfastly backs Palestinians in securing all their legitimate rights, particularly their right to establish an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al-Quds as its capital.

Bensaid pointed out the critical role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, which operates under the direct supervision of King Mohammed VI, who is also the Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee. The agency remains dedicated to enhancing the living conditions of the residents of the Holy City. He detailed that Morocco has directly responded to the needs of these residents through various projects spanning economic, social, housing, education, and cultural sectors. These efforts are backed by a budget nearing $65 million, supporting 200 major projects and numerous small and medium-sized initiatives.

Moreover, Bensaid highlighted that Morocco's presidency of the Arab Information Ministers' Council occurs during a particularly sensitive period marked by significant dynamics in the media and communication sectors amidst substantial geopolitical changes in the Arab region. He stressed the necessity of focusing collective efforts on fortifying joint Arab media actions to adapt and enhance their effectiveness in this evolving context.

The remarks underscore Morocco's proactive role in Arab solidarity and its ongoing support for the Palestinian cause as a central issue in regional geopolitics.
