Elderly Patient Dumped in Bush by Hospital Ambulance in Central Region

A shocking incident has emerged from Gomoa Ojobi, where a patient believed to be in her late 60s, with POP on her legs, was found abandoned in a bush. The disturbing action was reportedly carried out by an ambulance from Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital in the Central Region.

According to a source within the Police Service, the victim was initially on admission and receiving treatment at Winneba Trauma Hospital following an accident. However, after the hospital failed to identify her family members, they discharged the patient and allegedly abandoned her in a bush.

Eyewitness accounts from some Gomoa Ojobi residents revealed that they saw the ambulance driver removing the elderly patient from the vehicle in a wheelchair and leaving her in the bush. This alarming act has sparked outrage within the community.

Gomoa Ojobi Community Chairman, Apostle Robert Afraku, has called on the authorities and the Gomoa East Social Welfare to intervene and rescue the patient to ensure her safety and well-being.

Despite the gravity of the situation, the management of Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital has remained silent and has not commented on the matter.

The incident raises serious concerns about healthcare practices and patient care in the region, demanding immediate attention and investigation by relevant authorities.
