Ghana Prisons Service Pursues Recapture of Escaped Chinese Convict

The Ghana Prisons Service is actively pursuing the recapture of a Chinese convict who escaped custody with the alleged help of two prison officers. The convict and his partner managed to flee while the officers were accompanying him to meet his wife at a hotel in Korle-Gonno, Accra. The two officers, Joseph Oteng and Sergeant Isaac Boateng, are now facing charges for conspiracy and aiding in the escape.

Abdul Latif Adamu, the Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Prisons Service, has reaffirmed the institution's commitment to capturing the escaped convict. He mentioned that they have received intelligence information regarding the whereabouts of the convict and that the search party is actively pursuing leads. Mr. Adamu expressed confidence that with the intelligence gathered and put into action, they hope to bring the escapee back into custody soon.
