Ghana Misses Out on 2024 BET Awards Nominations
Ghana was notably absent from the list of nominees for the 2024 BET Awards, with seven Nigerian artists and South African singer Tyla leading the African contingent. Drake topped the overall nominations, followed by Nicki Minaj.
Ghana has not secured any nominations for the 2024 BET Awards, scheduled to take place later this year. This marks a stark contrast to last year when Black Sherif proudly represented Ghana by winning the Best International Flow award at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.
In a significant showing, seven Nigerian artists received nominations across various categories. The artists are Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Tems, Asake, Seyi Vibez, Davido, and Lojay. Ayra Starr leads the Nigerian contingent with three nominations, followed closely by Burna Boy and Tems, each with two nominations.
South African singer Tyla emerged as the top African nominee, earning four nominations.
On the global stage, Drake leads with seven nominations, while Nicki Minaj follows closely with six.
