Emergency Landing of Ghana Air Force Helicopter in Western Region

The Ghana Gas Company reassures the public that the emergency landing of a Ghana Air Force helicopter with registration number GHF 696 on Tuesday, March 19, at Bonsukrom in the Western Region, will not disrupt its operations.
In a statement issued on March 19 by Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah Bonsu, Head of Corporate Communications of the company, residents of Bonsukrom and operational staff are urged to remain calm. The incident, attributed to adverse weather conditions, occurred during a routine inspection of the company's gas pipeline right of way.
"All passengers on board have been accounted for, with no fatalities reported. However, crew members are undergoing routine medical checks," stated Owusu-Bempah Bonsu.
Separately, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) confirmed the emergency landing in a statement signed by Brigadier General E Aggrey-Quarshie, Director General of Public Relations of the Air Force. The helicopter, carrying 21 passengers comprising Ghana National Gas Company staff and aircrew, was conducting a routine offshore powerline inspection when the incident transpired.
While investigations into the cause of the emergency landing are ongoing, both the Ghana Gas Company and the Ghana Armed Forces assure the public of their continued commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
