Two Children Found Dead in Kakpayili; Residents Suspect Ritual Murder
The decomposed bodies of two missing three-year-old boys have been discovered in a vehicle behind Mallam Madaha's house in Kakpayili, sparking suspicions of ritual murder among residents.
The decomposed bodies of two children were discovered in Kakpayili in the Tamale metropolis of the Northern Region, igniting suspicions among residents that the children were murdered for ritual purposes. The bodies were found abandoned in a vehicle behind the house of Mallam Madaha.
The Assemblyman for the Kakpayili Electoral area, Hafiz Andani, reported that the children, both aged three, went missing last Saturday. Despite an extensive search, they remained unlocated for two days, prompting an official complaint to the police on the 25th.
"They went missing on the 22nd, so on the 25th, we reported the case to the police," Alhaji Hafiz stated.
Reports from some residents indicated that the children were last seen near Mallam Madaha's residence. In response, the local chief summoned Mallam Madaha to the GumaNaa palace for questioning. Both Mallam Madaha and his wife denied any involvement in the crime.
This denial led to increased agitation among the residents, causing the chief to request police intervention. "The chief called in the police, who came and took him to the police station. However, my people heard him granting interviews this evening around 4, which triggered more agitation," Alhaji Hafiz added.
A subsequent search led to the grim discovery of the two boys' bodies in a car behind Mallam Madaha's house. The discovery fueled residents' anger, resulting in the burning and vandalizing of Mallam Madaha's house.
The assemblyman has urged the police to ensure thorough investigations and deliver justice for the deceased children. "We are calling for justice for the boys. We don't want what happened to the Takoradi girls to repeat here. We don't care who the person is, whether an opinion leader, political head, or whatever. What we want is justice," he asserted.
