Melcom Group Marks Ghana's Independence with Health Walk and Philanthropy

The Melcom Group of Companies recently organized a health and fitness walk to commemorate Ghana's Independence anniversary. The event, which took place in Accra and involved various branches, aimed to strengthen bonds among employees. It also served as a tribute to the late Chairman of Melcom, Bhagwan R. Khubchandani, who passed away on January 25, 2021, at the age of 84.

The walk, which started and ended at the North Kaneshie branch of Melcom, lasted from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Additionally, the company marked the occasion by donating relief items to districts in the Volta region affected by dam spillage. This act of generosity demonstrates Melcom's commitment to supporting communities in need.

During the event, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Member of Parliament for Ketu South, praised Melcom for its support to Ghana and her constituency, which had been affected by floods. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts from businesses and employees in nation-building.

Godwin Avenorgbo, the Director of Communications at Melcom Group, spoke highly of Khubchandani's innovative thinking and business acumen. He highlighted Khubchandani's philanthropic endeavors, particularly his investment in the Melcom Care Foundation, which serves as the primary Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative Platform for the company. Avenorgbo emphasized Khubchandani's desire to be remembered as an investor who provided affordability, luxury, convenience, and comfort under the Melcom Brand.
