In a significant gesture aimed at fortifying law enforcement efforts, Japan Motors Trading Company Ltd (JMTC) and Lakeside Estate, sister companies, have donated two Yamaha FJR 1300AP Police Escort Motorcycles worth GH¢ 728,000 to the Ghana Police Service (GPS).

The Yamaha FJR 1300 Police Escort motorcycles are recognized for their exceptional performance and comfort, particularly over long distances. With a potent 1300cc 16-valve engine, these bikes boast impressive horsepower and a top speed of 250km/hour.

The donation ceremony, held in Accra, saw a delegation led by Kalmoni, the Managing Director of JMTC and acting Chairman of Lakeside Estate, formally hand over the motorcycles to the Police Administration. Kalmoni emphasized that the donation goes beyond corporate social responsibility, symbolizing unwavering support for those dedicated to maintaining peace and safeguarding communities.

This isn't the first instance of support from the companies to the GPS; they previously donated about 10 motorcycles in 2022. Kalmoni commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and his officers for their swift response to recent incidents, highlighting the successful recovery of stolen vehicles in Tema.

Dr. Prince Joseph Ayiku, Managing Director of Lakeside Estate, echoed Kalmoni's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of supporting law enforcement's dedication and hard work. He stressed that policing is a shared responsibility and expressed hopes for continued collaboration between the companies and the GPS.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, the IGP, expressed gratitude for the donation, recognizing its potential to enhance operational efficiency. He reiterated the importance of prioritizing security for societal growth and assured continued efforts to provide a secure environment for businesses to thrive.

The donation of these powerful escort motorbikes marks a significant step in bolstering law enforcement capabilities and underlines the commitment of private entities like JMTC and Lakeside Estate towards ensuring public safety and security in Ghana.
