NDC’s 2024 Presidential Candidate John Mahama Lauds Alhaji Hudu Mogtari for Generous Donations
John Dramani Mahama, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the NDC, has praised Alhaji Hudu Mogtari for his significant donations to the party's campaign efforts in the Upper West Region.
In a recent show of commitment to the party’s 2024 campaign in the Upper West Region, Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, a former NDC parliamentary aspirant in the Wa Central Constituency, donated a pick-up truck and several motorbikes to aid the party. Additionally, he contributed 30,000 Ghana Cedis as seed money for the maintenance and fueling of the donated items.
The presentation was made ahead of a Fundraising Dinner organized by the Upper West Regional Executive Committee of the NDC. The items were received by former president and NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and regional chairman Nasir Sani.
John Mahama commended Alhaji Hudu Mogtari for his generosity, stating, “Thank you very much, my brother-in-law, for this handsome donation. Upper West is one of the critical regions for the NDC because it was midwifed by our tradition and we take the region very seriously and that’s why we aim to win all 11 seats in the Upper West region.”
NDC’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, emphasized the importance of utilizing the donation effectively to impact the campaign positively.
During the brief handing-over ceremony, Alhaji Hudu Mogtari expressed his commitment to the party’s campaign, saying, “We have donated these items to help with the work of the NDC in the Upper West Region. We know the 2024 election is not going to be an easy task, and we need all boots on the ground to make sure that we go around, we sell the message of the NDC so that we can win all eleven parliamentary seats in the Upper West Region.”
He highlighted that the donation of 25 motorbikes and a pick-up truck aims to facilitate mobility for campaign workers. He urged the party leadership to ensure the items are used effectively for a vigorous campaign.
Upper West Regional Chairman, Nasir Sani, assured that the donated items would be put to good use.
The support provided by Alhaji Hudu Mogtari has been widely praised by party supporters, who view it as a crucial boost for the upcoming elections.
In 2023, Alhaji Hudu Mogtari made a similar donation to the Wa Central Constituency, contributing a brand new pick-up to accelerate the party’s activities. Formerly the Programme Lead for the African Union Smart Safety Surveillance (AU-3S) Programme, Alhaji Hudu has extensive experience in building and strengthening health regulatory systems across Africa.
Before his continental role, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority, leading significant initiatives in medicines' regulatory harmonization and safety standards. Alhaji Hudu's dedication to community development and social justice has earned him widespread admiration.
