John Mahama Vows to Reset Ghana from "Destructive State
NDC flagbearer John Mahama pledges to overcome Ghana's challenges and transform the nation's future, criticizing the current administration's governance.
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has assured Ghanaians that his government will reset the country from its current "destructive state."
At a press briefing on Sunday, July 7, he emphasized that although the nation is in peril, there is hope for overcoming these difficulties.
"Notwithstanding these challenges, I assure you tonight that together, we shall turn around this tide," he said.
He highlighted the urgent need for a transformative shift in governance, job creation, social services, and the overall vision for Ghana's future.
Mr. Mahama criticized the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia, claiming that their administration has led the country into a serious economic abyss.
"The current economic mess sums up the verdict on this NPP administration," he stated, pointing to unprecedented levels of poverty, unemployment, and social inequity.
He argued that the ruling party's reliance on slogans has failed to mask their incompetence, resulting in widespread economic and social deprivation.
"The harsh reality is that for most citizens, the piteous journey over the period has been a very bitter experience of economic and social deprivation," he said.
The NDC flagbearer asserted that the unprecedented levels of poverty, unemployment, and social inequity have exposed the dubious strategy of hiding incompetence under sloganeering.
Despite these challenges, the NDC flagbearer expressed optimism about the future.
He assured Ghanaians that the NDC would turn the ruling party's "destructive tide into positive and progressive waves," promising a brighter future for the country.
