Ursula Owusu-Ekuful Ready to Be NPP Running Mate
Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful expresses readiness to serve as the New Patriotic Party's running mate if selected, emphasizing her commitment to her current roles without lobbying for the position.
The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has announced her readiness to be a running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if selected.
Owusu-Ekuful is one of several contenders for the position, competing alongside prominent figures such as the Energy Minister, Mathew Opoku Prempeh. Despite her qualifications and potential, the Communications Minister made it clear that she will not lobby for the position.
“This position is not something we lobby for. If women are running affairs, it’s not bad. I love working and doing every job assigned to me. I won’t go begging, but when I get the chance, I will do it and do it nicely,” she stated during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Thursday.
She emphasized her dedication to her current responsibilities, saying, “For now, I am a Minister and an MP and doing my job very well. If they mention my name to go and do another job, I will do it gladly, but for now, I have to concentrate on what I have been assigned to do.”
Owusu-Ekuful's comments highlight her readiness to take on higher responsibilities while maintaining her commitment to her present duties in the government.
