Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, the hospital's Chief Executive Officer, underscored the significance of this initiative, noting that the manual will provide an easily accessible compendium of services with just a simple click, facilitating a more seamless service experience.

"Presently, there's a dearth of centralized information regarding our services. Individuals often resort to contacting specific hospital staff for details. With this manual, however, a repository of services will be readily available, enhancing accessibility," explained Dr. Ampomah.

Accessible Information In a recent interview, Dr. Ampomah revealed that the content compilation for the manual has been completed. He emphasized the necessity of such a resource for a service-oriented institution like Korle Bu, as it ensures transparent dissemination of available services.

The absence of such a manual has led to instances where individuals seek services elsewhere, unaware that they are provided by Korle Bu. Additionally, many resort to contacting hospital staff for service inquiries prior to their visit.

Dr. Ampomah noted that the service manual is one of the pivotal projects earmarked for the hospital's centennial celebrations, reflecting a commitment to enhancing service delivery.

Digital Mapping In addition to the service manual, plans are underway to introduce a digital mapping system for the hospital premises. Dr. Ampomah highlighted the common challenge of visitors feeling disoriented within the hospital, especially when navigating different departments. Furthermore, MTN has expressed interest in supporting the hospital with the technological aspects of this endeavor.

Digitalization Efforts Dr. Ampomah outlined further digitalization initiatives, including the digitalization of hospital beds. This initiative seeks to provide real-time information on bed occupancy, addressing the perennial challenge of bed shortages associated with the hospital.

Moreover, plans are in place to establish a state-of-the-art data center with robust security features, safeguarding sensitive information and fostering research endeavors.
