In a ceremony steeped in tradition and honor, Ghana Post will reveal a new postal stamp paying homage to the esteemed Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, within the regal confines of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi this Saturday.

Dubbed the "Asantehene Commemorative Stamps," these meticulously crafted stamps feature diverse depictions of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, commemorating the 25th anniversary of his revered reign. The Asantehene ascended the Golden Stool as the 16th occupant on April 26, 1999, marking a significant milestone in Ghanaian history.

The stamp collection comprises various formats, including standard stamps, commemorative stamps, crypto stamps, stamp albums, framed gold stamps, and postcards. Bice Osei Kuffour, Managing Director of Ghana Post, announced this development during a press briefing in Accra, underscoring the stamps' significance in honoring the Asantehene's profound impact on the nation.

Mr. Kuffour emphasized that these stamps transcend their functional role as postage stamps, symbolizing the deep respect and admiration Ghana holds for the Ashanti Kingdom and its illustrious leader. He lauded the meticulous attention to cultural sensitivity and foresight exhibited by the Ghana Post team in crafting every aspect of the stamps to reflect the nation's rich heritage and the legacy of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Highlighting the Asantehene's transformative initiatives, such as the Otumfuo Education Fund and the Otumfuo Charity Foundation, Mr. Kuffour expressed gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Minister of Communications and Digitalisation Ursula Owusu Ekuful, and other stakeholders. He commended the close collaboration between Ghana Post and the committee from Manhyia Palace for bringing this project to fruition, emphasizing that the stamps serve as a tribute to the enduring bond between cherished traditions and aspirations for the future.
