Gomoa Simbrofo Accident

A tragic accident occurred at Gomoa Simbrofo on the Winneba-Apam highway in the Gomoa West District, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving several others injured. The incident took place early yesterday morning when a Sprinter bus, with registration number GT 5873-09, veered off the road after one of its back tires burst. The bus, which was transporting passengers from Accra to Takoradi, crashed into a roadside tree. The injured were taken to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased, a male and a female, have been deposited at the morgue.

Anyinasusu Accident

Another fatal accident occurred at Anyinasusu in the Offinso South Municipality of the Ashanti Region last Tuesday night. This incident involved a collision between a Yutong bus, traveling from Kumasi to Garu Tempane in the Upper East Region, and a Rhino truck loaded with oranges. The crash claimed three lives on the spot. The Assemblyman for Anyinasusu, Ibrahim Yogo, confirmed the incident and noted that the survivors, who were trapped in the wreckage, were rescued by local residents and taken to St. Patrick’s Government Hospital for treatment.

The bodies of the deceased from both accidents have been sent to local morgues, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact causes of the crashes.
