ARC Leader Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen Denies Involvement in Corruption
ARC Leader Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen vehemently denies allegations of corruption during a televised interview, asserting his unwavering commitment to integrity and transparency throughout his political career.
In a recent television interview, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the Leader of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC) and former Minister of Trade and Industry, staunchly refuted allegations of corrupt activities throughout his political career. Addressing the accusations head-on, Kyerematen emphasized his steadfast commitment to integrity, asserting that he has never accepted bribes or engaged in corruption.
During the interview on Accra-based TV3, Kyerematen made his position clear, stating, “If I say I’ve never been corrupt and I’ll never be corrupt, I’m not corrupt now, in all, it’s to say the matter speaks for itself. I’ve never taken a bribe, it will not even happen. How is it going to happen?”
Kyerematen's assertions come amidst heightened scrutiny of political figures and their involvement in corrupt practices across the African continent. As the Founder and Leader of the Movement for Change (M4C), Kyerematen underscored the significance of his unequivocal denial, suggesting that for an African politician to declare their innocence regarding corruption openly should serve as compelling evidence.
"I don’t want us to use all our time to talk about this but if a politician in Africa can say categorically with the full force of the energy that he has to say that I’ve never been corrupt, I’ll never be corrupt, what further testimony do you require?" Kyerematen affirmed.
Kyerematen's steadfast denial and unwavering commitment to transparency may reshape the ongoing discourse surrounding political integrity in Africa, prompting further reflection on the standards and expectations placed upon public officials.
